Doing Research

What is the best way to learn how to do research and to find out if research is something you would enjoy?  Do a research project.  This is a major theme at the Fall Undergraduate Research Workshop where you can learn more about doing research.  Finding a project to do may be easier than you think.  Be sure to check into the opportunities in your department.  Also, a summer internship is a great way to get experience.  Sometimes just listening to the research done by others can be inspiring.  You can do this at the Annual Meeting or by inviting a guest speaker to your institution. Finally, if you decide you would like to continue doing research as a career, once you near completion of your undergraduate degree, you should start checking into graduate school.  Below are some links that may be helpful as you think about doing research.
